Some configurations are crucial for the best result when exporting a video in editing software like Adobe Premiere. These export settings might seem a bit confusing, and for that, this article discusses the most efficient Codecs and settings for a high-quality result. They will improve the quality of both sound and video.
To enhance the export quality, consider these settings as a priority: Compression rate, Frame rate, Bit rate and Resolution.
- Codec: This is the encoded format of a video. Although there are different kinds of codecs available, ArvanCloud suggests using the H.264 codec.
H.264: This codec is a digital video compression standard balancing high video quality at lower bit rates with efficient file size.
- Frame Rate: For a better output result, it is necessary to use a consistent frame rate when compressing a video.
This is a list of the most used frame rates:
- 23.98
- 24
- 25 (ArvanCloud Suggestion)
- 29.97
- 30
- 50
- 59.94
- 60
- Bit Rate: It indicates the size and quality of a video file. Select a bit rate on editing software based on the intended size and quality.
Bit rate (Mbps) | Quality |
1 – 2 | SD |
2 – 5 | 720p |
5 – 10 | 1080p |
10 – 20 | 2k |
20 – 40 | 4k |
- Resolution: Although there are various video resolutions, the standard resolutions below work well for a high-quality exported video.
Resolution (Pixel) | Format |
640 x 480 | Standard Definition (SD)
4:3 aspect ratio |
640 x 360 | Standard Definition (SD)
16:9 aspect ratio |
1280 x 720 (Recommended) | 720p HD
16:9 aspect ratio |
1920 x 1080 (Recommended) | 1080p HD
16:9 aspect ratio |
- Audio: Using stereo audio channel-2 is the best option for high-resolution audio in videos. It is also supported by almost any platform (Mobile, Web, Social media, and OTT).
- Audio Codec: When exporting a video, it is important to select an audio codec. ArvanCloud suggests AAC-LC or Advanced Audio Codec.
- Data Rate: The best data rate for encoding the audio is 320 Kbit/s.
- Sample Rate: Set the sample rate to 48 kHz for the desired sound output. Please note that if the sample rate’s default setting is less than or equal to 48 kHz, there is no need to change it. It is also possible not to choose a higher sample rate.
