Setting up a software service always requires a suitable network infrastructure. For such cases, they create different VLANs in the infrastructure of a data center so that various services can exchange information in separate platforms.

As you can see in the picture above, the servers connected to the ports of the same color can only communicate with each other, and for example, the server connected to the red port cannot communicate with the server connected to the blue port by default.

The same concept is presented in a broader form in ArvanCloud’s IaaS infrastructure called private network. You can set up a small data center with your desired configuration.

The critical point is that VXLAN (a more advanced version of VLAN) is used in ArvanCloud’s infrastructure. Users can easily create a new network from their panel and operate without worrying about interfering with other networks.

What Is the Use of a Private Network?

The most important use of the private network is for customers with medium and extensive services. These customers can define separate private networks based on their needs for different services to help separate the service and its security.

For example, it is possible to create a private network, and the Instances that are database and application servers can be placed in this network and can communicate with each other without being seen from the Internet. This way, different services can be separated, their security can be established and you can simulate a data center.
