What the DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error means is very simple. The error indicates that a DNS lookup for a given domain name IP has been completed, but no IP is found that matches the domain. NXDOMAIN is short for Non-Existent Domain.

While this error sometimes occurs for visitors due to network or local DNS issues, it may also be a problem involving your domain record settings. After enabling your domain in ArvanCloud, if you or your visitors are getting the DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN error, please check your DNS records in the ArvanCloud panel and then follow the steps below.

First, verify that your domain is completely transferred to ArvanCloud. In some cases, this process may take up to 24 hours. In this regard, you can use the DNS Checker tool to verify whether ArvanCloud’s NSs are set correctly for your domain. This tool will also allow you to check other DNS records.

Assuming you have your records set up correctly, check to make sure they point to the correct source IP address.

Within the ArvanCloud panel, check to see if a record exists for the domain name or subdomain you want to use.

Make sure to check the settings of your network card. In addition, set a public DNS such as Google with the address 8.8.8.8. You can refer to the operating system’s network documentation to further examine this issue.

Once you have made changes to your DNS records, it may take a few minutes for the changes to take effect.
